Important information to explain to pupils during snow conditions
Dear parents, guardians and friends of St. Andrews,
Whilst the snow conditions persist, please would you explain the following to pupils to ensure that there are no accidents in school. Your kind cooperation is greatly appreciated in this:
INFORMATION TO CONVEY TO PUPILS:
- Please don't throw snowballs
- Stick to the gritted pathways
- Don't run (just like in the swimming pool!)
- Upon arrival at school, go straight inside, don't wait outside in the cold
- Wear suitable footwear and clothing
- Be sensible! Listen to the teachers.
INFORMATION FOR PARENTS:
- Please exercise extra caution when driving around the school
- Please do not park or loiter in the layby - it's going to be busy (keep moving forward!!)
- If accompanying children on foot, you may want to walk over the snow on the common to the zebra crossing (the pavement near the bowls / tennis club is icy)
- After delivering children to school, please don't hang about as gritted pathways will become obstructed
- Please ensure your children bring appropriate clothing: coats, hats, gloves, scarf, outdoor wellies and indoor shoes
- Spare socks may be a good idea!
- If school is open, please make every effort to ensure your child comes to school. Better late than never.
- If you would like to receive the 'callparents' text messages with latest information updates, please give or email your mobile phone number(s) to Julie Green (StAndrewsMajorPS@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk)
Many thanks for your cooperation.
Best regards,
Sue Jordan
